It is an ancient art that dates back to at least 5000 BCE, and today it is a multi-billion dollar industry that produces a staggering array of different styles and flavors of beer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The basic brewing process involves several steps. First, the grain is milled and mixed with hot water in a process called mashing. This releases the sugars from the grain and creates a sweet, malty liquid called wort.
